Looking for Insurance and finding young driver insurance

Just the other day I was surfing the net looking for insurance packages for pets. As you might know I like investigating different types of insurance offers and primarily packages and plans that are related to cats and dogs.

But sometimes I come across other types of insurance and since my kid has just turned 16 it caught my attention when and ad said “Cheap Insurance for Young Drivers” because that is just what he needs. We wanted to give him a car but he would have to pay for everything else on his own and that includes insurance.

The ad let me to a place that talked about cheap car insurance brokers and how finding brokers that specializes in cheap insurance might be a great way for young people to start out. My second thought was that I had to search for similar brokers that had pet insurance as their specialty. Even though I spent about an hour searching I couldn’t really find anything worth my while. I guess it might be because pet insurance is a very cheap insurance when you compare it to car insurance. There just might not be enough money in that niche for brokers to want to spend their efforts.

Most pet insurance policies will range from about $10 to maybe $80 a month for the premium package and compared to car insurance that will easily cost hundreds of dollars a month it would take 10 pet customers for every 1 car customer so I guess that makes sense from a financial perspective.

But if you’re looking for something to venture into that not many others are doing the Pet Insurance Broker business might be something to check out.

Will You Find a Cheap Cat Insurance with VPI?

That is a question that a lot of people have asked me so I decided to go to VPI’s website to see if I could find anything about offering a cheap cat insurance plan. Starting off on their main site I quickly found the picture of a cat and that picture led me to the page about cat insurance plans. “Great” I thought but then I was presented with the much hated zip code prompt. Now I can understand why insurance companies need to know where you live as certain areas are more likely to have health issues and accidents but it doesn’t change the fact that I hate that little box. So I entered a zip code for Beverly Hills to see whether that would be cheaper of more expensive than other zip codes as you would imagine that people living in 91210 would be able to pay a little higher fee for their insurance. Hovering over a lot of information about the different plans I would a Quick Quote button that I pressed.

Yet another box appeared. Come on… I’m just trying to see some prices for gods sake. But no no… I need to enter breed, name, birthday and at lot of other things. I first was told that the cat I was trying to enter were too young. Fair enough but why didn’t you tell me upfront?

Finally I entered some information that would let me move on to the next form and I could see that there were still more forms to go. Now VPI Vet Insurance might be the nations oldest company but calling this a “Quick” quote is a bit of an overstatement if you ask me. Finally I got to the end and is presented with a price of $11.42. Now that is great but maybe I should have found another price to compare with? Because something can only be cheap when compare to something else :)

Is the cost of a pet insurance really worth it?

As a pet owner you might have asked yourself several times whether the cost of the pet insurance you’re currently paying for (or have thought of buying) is really worth the money. Even though I would like to present you with a Yes or No answer I don’t think that things are as simple as that. There are a lot of different things that you need to consider personally if you want to answer that question.

Let’s say that you went for the AKC pet insurance program and that you pay them the between $25 and $50 per month and nothing happens to your pet. Would that be worth it? Well if you look at the return on investment on a monetary level then absolutely no. But if you could sleep at night knowing that your pet was protected in case of an accident then you might answer differently. On http://www.petinsurancepro.com/ and http://www.petinsurancepro.co.uk/ (UK version) I’ll dive a lot deeper into what the positive and negative aspects of the different pet insurance plans can be. From that you’ll be able to make a far better choice and you’re more likely to be able to give yourself a qualified answer to whether a pet insurance package will really be worth it to you.

How To Find a Banfield Pet Hospital Near You

If you have been following my other blog for a while you know that I talk a lot about Banfield and especially the Banfield pet hospital which is actually a large group of hospitals located all over the US. From their website it is said that more than 500 pet hospitals are Banfield driven making them one of the largest operators in the country.

Since I wanted to write an article about how you can find a Banfield driven hospital near you there is a great tool that Banfield has made available from their website. The tool will help you locate all the hospitals within a radius that you specify. You can also search the hospitals by state if that is more convenient for you. From my tests so far this tool works fast and gives you the information you need which besides address and phone numbers include a Google map of where the specific hospital is located.

By using the Google Maps tool Banfield can guide their customers using Google’s free tool that will also give them driving directions. Good thinking by the Banfield webmaster team.

The Banfield Story

Almost a year ago I did a review of the Banfield Pet Insurance offer at www.petinsurancepro.com. To this date that post have gotten a lot of feedback from readers and customers of Banfields. What strikes me as strange is that even though it is quite obvious that Banfield does not offer any insurance in the normal sense of the word most of their customers are still very pleased with the product that they bought.

What Banfield offers is a wellness plan which will assist you in keeping your pets health and updated on their health checks. Now the Banfield Pet Plan is a really great idea and if you need someone to help you keeping your dog or cat healthy and updated with vaccines and similar treatment, then you should probably check out their service.

But you must never think that it’ll replace your current pet insurance because it can’t. It’s not an insurance but rather a proactive approach to keeping your pet vital and healthy.

Review of PetCare Insurance for Pets

In one of the guest posts I recently did I wrote a PetCare Insurance Review that I think you should know about.

As a pet owner you are probably quite aware of the fact that VET bills, medication and health check prices have soared over the last decade or so and being a pet owner has therefore become an even more expensive venture. We love our pets and we’ll do anything to keep them safe and sound but because prices are so high some pet owners find themselves struggling to pay the bills when their pet get ill or is in an accident and needs special care.

You’ve probably read stories of people paying thousands of dollars for pet surgery and maybe they’ll even need to keep the pet on expensive medication for the rest of its life and that can easily amount to hundreds of dollars per month for years to come. Not something that you would want as a pet owner.

A solution to a problem like this is to get a pet insurance and we’re seeing more and more people doing so simply because it task a great financial risk of their shoulders. They can sleep better at night because they know that if an accident happens or the pet gets ill they’ll have the insurance company take over most (if not all) of the costs.

Now PetCare is just one out of many pet insurance companies and I’ve actually done several other reviews but since Petcare is one of the major companies it is always a good thing to at least see what they have to offer. The packages they have might not be to your liking but on the other side they might be. Go take a look at my review here: http://www.petinsurancepro.com/petcare-insurance-review

Is Trupanion leaving money on the table?

In the post I did yesterday I found that the pet insurance company Trupanion are not taking on new customers if their pets are older than 12 months. Their sole focus is no puppies and kittens which means that if you own a pet that is more than 12 months old and you want to either get a pet insurance or to move your insurance from one company to another then Trupanion will not be for you.

From a business point of view I don’t quite understand why anyone would turn down new customers but and the other hand I’m pretty sure that they have a reason for doing so. It might be that if they communicate this message to enough people it might make people choose them out of scarcity. Another reason is that it might keep their customers signed up longer as they know that they’ll not be able to come back to Trupanion if they leave and their pet is older than 12 months.

Insurance companies hire Ph.D students with highly developed mathematical brains so I’m sure that they have figured everything out and that the conclusion was that this was the best and most profitable solution for them but since I don’t have a Ph.D I don’t get it.
